When I moved to a new kindergarten, the classes were smaller in size. Thus, in my own personal opinion, not a lot of work should be done on the walls or it will appear crowded. I started simple and continued that way. The girls loved the smurfs and were always talking about them and so, I started cutting and creating them on the walls. The class was almost done but I could not go further due to other moving condition in my own personal life. Enjoy!

Jungle class - welcoming door
The lion above the door is a real hat. I stuffed it with papers for it to pomp out. I've written the names of the Arabic teacher and the assistant along with mine below the lion for family reference. The girl is a character in movie the feature "despicable me" which I really loved. She looked great with the animals and that what I was seeking to have :)
I saw this idea on line. I loved it and applied it. It was quite hard for the girls kept moving their faces and I had to keep up with them but it was all done in time thank God
This big board next to the door is used to display the student work of art. I did it in a shape of an old board that one can imagine seeing in a jungle :p
Jungle class - parrot cages
Tow parrot cages
The two boards: word bank and the art board were made in the shape of two cages. The parrots as shown above have left the cages to hold the parchments that have the titles written in them. The inside of the cage was made in black to give the sense of 3D dimension. However, it is clear that the edge of the left cage has a cat hanging there peeking on the birds. This was made for the sense of humor for my kids and it did.
Jungle class - My good hippo
My good hippo:
This is to be applied next year. I have made it ready to show the good and the bad behavior. As it is shown, the hippo is standing between two coconut trees. Each tree is to hold the mark true and false. The true tree will hold pictures of good behavior while the false one will hold pictures of bad behavior. They will also be made with pictures.
Jungle class - class rules
Class room rules:
I have displayed with pictures eight simple rules for the students to know and get to be repeated with the beginning of each English class. They are as follows: setting quietly, lips closed, eyes looking, ears listening, folded arms, crossed legs, hands up to speak, and finally feet still. At first the student were trying to know it by the pictures but after repetition, nowadays I get to choose one of them to read all the rules at once which became very easy to most of them. I have laid them out in the sunset lights. The shadow of the frogs in the corner with its children has a meaning in it; it’s like a mother teaching her kids how to act out respectively using our rules.
Jungle class - tooth fairy
The girl who lost her tooth:
This idea was creative and the girls loved it. Whenever a girl lost her tooth, she would come to me to show me her baby teeth. From that we thought of making this girl with curled hair. It was made in a form that kind of resembles the first student who lost her own tooth. The girl were made wearing the school’s uniform to give the sense of belonging and above her cute curly hair, white teeth with white wings were cut out and pasted above her. After it was done, the students who lost theirs had their pictures hanged on the white little angelic wings. Now I can say that after making that, girls would come to me feeling happy that they lost it instead of worrying how it would fall out and how painful it would be.
Jungle class - behavior chart
The behavior chart:
The behavior chart is done in the form of apples. Each apple has the full name of the students and mini pictures posted beside the name. This chart excites the students to act more politely and participate even more. And what excites them further is that at the end of each week, the stars or the stickers should be counted and the best three girls were to receive a gift at the beginning of the week that follows.
Plus, during the class a small gift is rapped or hanged on the board for those who would do well during the class. And for a change, a paper crown as shown above is to be hand out almost every other day to give them more mortification.
Jungle class - calendar
The calendar:
The calendar includes the day, the month, the date, and the weather. It was made in the shape of a bird to cope with the theme. The smoke coming out from his speed carries the date from day one till thirty one. The semi-bubbles on top of the bird’s head represents the day in both languages. The feathers coming out the second bird, carries the months which are also listed in both languages. And finally, the weather is posted on the wood that the bird is carrying with his horn. For the month and date to be recognized from others, a green butterfly is to be posted near any of which for the indication.
Jungle class - attendance board
Big red bear house:
The house stands for the attendance board. Each girl has her picture posted on a baby’s bear face. The pictures are placed in each girl’s drawer for her to hang it once she comes in and takes it off back to her drawer when leaving. This gives the girl a sense of responsibility and direction.
Kindergarden boards
During my days in the first kindergarten I taught at, I worked on only four boarders
KG1 - Student's of the Week Board
Because we only had four classes unlike today, I only cut out four yellow stars. The student's of the week picture of each class is to be posted in those stars. This board along with the next board for KG2 are placed in the reception, so that the mothers or grandmothers can see their daughters smiling in these shinning stars. You would normally see the student holding her mother's hand to show her mother her own picture. This would make others look forward on their turn.
KG1 - Student's of the Week Board
Based on the fact that all KG2 classes themes was related to nature, it was clear for me that I had to do something that they all have in common. And what was more beautiful than the rainbow in the clear blue sky. KG1 themes were totally different then one another. It was for me like travelling from one place to a completely different one. Thus, the spaceship came along that was travelling to a lot f colourful planets.
The Fun Day
In that day, clowns were brought, magic tricks were made, and many other exciting activities and games. The star of the day was the magician for that I did the hat in that size. These were the only colours left so I had to be creative.
National day board
It is simple and to the point. The flag is the scarf moving on the boarder's edges creating a frame
The ocean class - octopus
The happy octopus
This was the last thing I was able to do in the ocean class. The happy octopus's aim is to hold different colours that the students are to learn during their year. I was planning to do much more for I truly loved the theme but it was the last week before the vacation. I’m glad the ocean teachers loved it :)
The ocean class - mermaid
The little mermaid
I chose the little mermaid to be the main the character in the class. I really enjoyed creating her on the wall for she was one of my many favorits TV characters as a young girl. It turned out great and I was sure of that when I saw the students excited about it. The rocks were of success and it was really good to have used only light and dark brown in creating a 3D look.
